Question about linear voltage regulators.

I'm working on a project to mount a pi on an old lcd screen I found. I am hoping to make an all in one computer, and for that I want to try and power the pi from the screens own power supply.

Would it be possible to connect a 5V 2A linear voltage regulator (like this one) to the power supply (specifically this screens one) and power the pi from a micro-usb cable connected to the regulator?

Would it supply enough amperage? (should I consider a 5V 3A regulator?)
