Work legal advice.

I work in Missouri as a machine operator in a production plant. The next level up in pay from my position is Mantech. They Would be who you would call if you have trouble with a machine before you called maintenance. They have a test you can take come in Mantech. I’ve been here for going on five years so I know a lot about the machine. I have asked multiple managers multiple times to take this test I was even told I could and never was. Yet they have had me train three different new hires for this exact title!! It’s just frustrating that I can train someone for the job that makes $3.50 more than I do but can not hold the title myself. It just doesn’t seem fair and I would like to know if there’s anything I can do.

Vulnerability Research Companies?

What vulnerability research companies are out there? I just started working for one that is a government contractor and they do real work. It was hard to believe that the government really comes to these and other people with a device or a set of devices and asks them nicely to break into them in a repeatable fashion, i really thought it was all done in house. What other companies exist in this sphere? Are they all pretty small shops? As far as I know the players in this arena are L3 Harris, Cromulence, Raytheon CODEX, Mantech and that's it. Who's the biggest? Who else does this work?

Analysis of Ensign Peak's SEC filing from Mar 2022: The Weapons Manufacturers

TL;DR Ensign Peak has invested 885.2 million dollars into 40 arms manufactures and defense contractors, making up approximately 2% of their portfolio.

Recently I took a look at a website that catalogs SEC filings to see what Ensign Peak's top investments were. As of filing, their portfolio was valued at 49.21 billion dollars. The website showed their top 50 investments, one of which was Boeing.

For those that don't know, Boeing not only manufactures commercial planes, but they also manufacture military aircraft, bombs, and missiles (including ICBMs). This got me curious. So I consulted lists of arms manufacturers and defense contractors, and compared it to the SEC filing. They have invested in a total of 40 arms manufacturers and defense contractors. Interestingly they only invested in American ones. They are as follows:

  • Lockheed Martin 95 million
  • Boeing 265.6 million
  • Northrop Grumman 25.2 million
  • General Dynamics 21.6 million
  • United Technologies 15.2 million
  • Huntington Ingalls Industries 1.3 million
  • Honeywell International 271.9 million
  • Leidos 10.8 million
  • Textron 19.8 million
  • Booz Allen Hamilton 2.3 million
  • General Electric 31 million
  • L3Harris 5 million
  • Curtiss-Wright 2.4 million
  • Oshkosh 7.2
  • CACI international 6 million
  • Science Applications International 4 million
  • KBR 2.7 million
  • Transdigm 6.9 million
  • Jacobs engineering 5.5
  • Mantech International 0.9 million
  • Moog 1.4 million
  • Ball 15.8 million
  • Teledyne 13.4 million
  • Amphenol 21.7 million
  • Howment Aerospace 3.5 million
  • Viasat 0.8 million
  • Mercury Systems 1.5 million
  • AeroVironment 1 million
  • Axon Enterprise 2.9 million
  • Brunswick 2.2 million
  • Kaman 0.8 million
  • Olin 10.4 million
  • Polaris 2.4 million
  • Vista Outdoor 0.7 million
  • AECOM 4.3 million
  • Elbit Systems 0.3 million
  • Ensco 0.2 million
  • Kratos Defense & Security Solutions 0.3 million
  • Oceaneering International 0.6 million
  • Unisys 0.7

The grand total is 885.2 million dollars invested in these arms manufactures and defense contractors. I can't be 100% certain this list is complete. The first list I consulted was the SIPRI Arms Industry Database, where I quickly realized that only American companies were being invested in. I switched to using Wikipedia's list of American weapons manufactures and defense contractors. I didn't know that most of these companies existed, let alone what most of them do. That's something I can look into moving forward. There's other types of companies on my radar to look into, such as oil companies, nonrenewable energy, and known MLMs. What is everyone's thoughts?

Edit: Added TL;DR
