Companies Hiring Recent Graduates?

Hello,

I graduated in May 2023 with a B.S. in Statistics with minor in bioengineering. 3.55 GPA. Still not one interview or job.

I have no clearance, no degree job experience, 3 years of manager experience in retail if that means anything.

I also have experience with using Python, SAS, R, SQL, JMP, and MATLAB with courses in my degree only.

I would love any full time job, any income, live in Falls Church and more than happy to relocate if needed.

Since May 18, I made it a jokb to apply to at least 30 jobs a day, 50 usually is what I reach with more on weekends, and I have over a counted of 9000 applications counting on indeed, glassdoor, monster, snagajob, linkedin, and around a few hundred (im guessing with this one) individual ones through website.

Not one interview. All ghosted / rejections. I apply to every administration assistant / analyst / data scientist / office assistant job I have seen. This includes OBX, General Dynamics, Mantech, Mitre, booz Allen, freddy mac, cgi, peraton, fairfax county, pwcs county, dod, don, fda, etc and more across all of VA.

Does anyone know any smaller companies that I’d have a great chance at that wont pop up on these sites? Or just ones that hire recent grads more often than not??

I have family / family friends that work at those companies above and even with those, no interview.

I just want to work and have no salary requirement and am curious if there is anything more I can do.

Would this be a good Resume to search for a job in Berlin/Germany?

It's been a few weeks since I've been applying to German Companies, of course for an English job role. However, I've not received a positive response.

I have good technical experience and extremely good communication skills. Can anyone advice if this would be considered a good resume for the German Job Market? If not, what am I doing wrong that it's not working out?

Why did I blow my L6219 Stepper Driver?

Hi all. I've been developing a circuit with bipolar stepper motor driving a gear system on a mount. The gearing shaft doesn't have full 360 degrees range so gets "caught" on the mount itself on both sides. I managed to get my code working to control it, but mistakenly set my delay time way too short, and the motor quickly caught on the mount and stalled. Shortly after the magic smoke came out of the L6219. This might be a basic question, but I just want to 100% confirm the reason for the driver blowing so it doesn't happen again.

According to its datasheet, the L6219 is current-controlled (I set it to 500 mA max), and also has thermal shutdown. Given that, I would have expected the thermal protection to kick in. However it also says it has a peak current of 1A. I'm guessing the very sudden stalling of the motor caused it's back EMF to vanish, thereby shorting the driver's output before it had a chance to implement protection and shut off the outputs? I think I initially assumed current-controlled also meant current-limiting, but I'm guessing now that's not true at all?

Then, as a side question, how would I be able to safely rotate the motor until it catches on the mount (so that I know where its starting position is)? Would I have to do this very slowly and use a current-sensing resistor? Or is there another way?
